DRONES: LOOK BEFORE YOU LEAP & DEALING WITH DRONES AS RISK AND THREAT (NL)

Drones are getting increasingly smaller, cheaper and technologically more advanced. Many police and emergency services are therefore thinking about using one as a police resource. An RPAS however is and remains an aircraft for which the necessary expertise is required and is maintained in order to make the police operations from the air successful. A sufficient amount of staff members needs to be trained in this respect. Furthermore, we need a logistic framework. In short, a lot of aspects need to be taken into account to get a suchlike police resource up in the air.

Part 2 of the seminar will be about dealing with drones as a risk and a threat.
Next to the use of drones in good faith, there is an increasing risk of people with bad intentions abusing these kind of devices. Indeed, drones can be used to commit crimes or can form a threat to the public safety.

Speakers:
* The Directie Luchtsteun (the body for air support) of the federal police
