A monodisciplinary fire command post is used to lead and coordinate the fire department’s intervention, that is, the deployment of personnel, vehicles, and equipment on site.
It serves for operational command within discipline 1: fire service, for example in cases of fire, rescue, technical interventions, or other incidents. The Dir.BW (Fire Director) has command.
Such a command vehicle is mainly deployed for larger or more complex incidents, when a single team is no longer sufficient and a clear command structure is required.
In a broader multidisciplinary emergency, the fire command post can also be part of wider coordination with other emergency services.
