In addition to the tasks related to urgent medical assistance (UMA) and the tasks that form part of the alerting of the emergency zones under the framework of the fastest adequate assistance (FAA), the 112 Emergency Call Center is responsible for the following statutory tasks:

1. Tasks under the medical intervention plan.
2. Directly or indirectly alerting and dispatching emergency services and all necessary services, resources, and personnel to the scene of the emergency, including those listed in the emergency and intervention plans or requested by the DIR-CP-OPS or the competent authority.
3. Alerting and calling upon the competent authorities (BE-Alert).
4. Alerting the relevant hospital services.
5. Opening multidisciplinary communication channels, including the national safety platform Paragon.
6. Monitoring and following up on the situation.
