A CP-OPS vehicle serves as a mobile command post for the coordination of all emergency services on site during an emergency situation. The vehicle is used to centralise communication and command between all disciplines, allowing them to coordinate and align their actions.
In the CP-OPS, the leaders of the different disciplines (known as the “Dir-” positions) come together.D1 = Fire brigade; D2 = Medical services; D3 = Police; D4 = Logistics; D5 = Information.
It therefore functions as a mobile crisis centre or operational meeting space at the incident location. Command is held by the Dir. CP-OPS.
