The first police officer in charge on site participates in the MotorKap meeting.
During this meeting, the police immediately coordinate the initial actions on site following the train derailment and the threat of explosion from wagons carrying hazardous materials. They quickly gather information from the emergency services present, determine the hazard zone, establish a wide safety perimeter, and ensure that bystanders and traffic are kept at a safe distance. In addition, they coordinate with the fire and medical services on priorities such as evacuations, access routes for emergency responders, and potential additional risks. The meeting is intended to align all involved disciplines so that the response is safe, efficient, and structured.
