A “hood meeting” between emergency services is a short on-site consultation between the first responsible officers of the fire brigade, police and ambulance services (D1, D2 and D3) to quickly coordinate who does what during an incident.
The term comes from the fact that this consultation often literally takes place around the hood of a vehicle, which serves as a convenient “table”.
