MULTI MKO – HOOD MEETING OF EMERGENCY SERVICES

Brandweerzone Midwest

Wednesday 29 April 2026

A “hood meeting” between emergency services is a short on-site consultation between the first responsible officers of the fire brigade, police and ambulance services (D1, D2 and D3) to quickly coordinate who does what during an incident.

The term comes from the fact that this consultation often literally takes place around the hood of a vehicle, which serves as a convenient “table”.

Short sitrep to each other

  • Hazards, risks, escalation… → safety measures
  • Make initial agreements, immediate actions

Determine:

  • Reflex perimeter
  • Escalation level (> 2 MKO = CP-OPS)
  • Location of the PEB (possibly VMP, CP-OPS, …)
  • Agree: how we will find each other again / re-establish contact

Continuously

This demo is part of the crisis management demo, an initiative of the Firefighters’ Association of Flanders in collaboration with the emergency planning department of the Governor of West Flanders.
