Delft Dynamics B.V. has been developing various types of complete drone systems in-house since 2006 and is involved in several national and international research & development projects in the field of drones and counter-drones. For example, the DroneCatcher system was developed, which can capture drones by firing a net from the DroneCatcher in the air. This system was recently successfully tested in a NATO exercise in Italy and is ready for the market. Another innovation, currently under development, is the U-drone system: a drone that can fly indoors in GPS-denied environments by means of a lightweight communication cable which unrolls from the U-drone. Using lidar and cameras (EO and IR), the U-drone can scan and map the environment without human risk to distances of 200 meters without any signal loss or interference. Ideal for getting situational awareness in tunnels, corridors, buildings, etc.
